‘Good Girl Bad Blood’ is the second of three books in this best selling young adult mystery series by Holly Jackson. This book takes place in Fairview, Connecticut, where eighteen year old Pippa (Pip) Fitz-Amobi  and her friends have their adventures. In the previous book, A Good Girl's  Guide to Murder, Pip had solved a five year old murder case of a young girl in her town. The  risks and  consequences of solving this murder put her and her loved ones at extreme risk so Pip promised herself that she was going to put the murder mysteries and other detective business behind her. This was until one of her closest friends completely vanished out of the blue. When the police prove that they are not taking this seriously, Pip decides that she will have to be the one to solve yet another case.  She once again finds herself following clues and putting pieces together while also uncovering more of her ‘peaceful’ town’s dark and twisted secrets.

Mystery novels are probably one of my favourite genres of books. Because of this I feel as though I have higher expectations when it comes to a book keeping me captivated. I like novels that keep me completely absorbed, make me eager to get to the next page to see what happens next, with a well-paced plot, and interesting characters. Overall a book needs to be able to keep me invested the whole way through. Good Girl Bad Blood did not disappoint, it actually exceeded my expectations. It is full of twists and turns the whole way through!  While reading the book I felt that I was solving the case right along with Pip. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys thrilling, mystery novels, with a mix of cheesy humour. I really enjoyed reading this book which is why I am going to give it five out of five stars. I cannot wait to read book three!
